HOW TO REINSTALL WINDOWS XP WITHOUT HAVING TO REACTIVATE WINDOWS XP AGAIN

  1. Click on Start and then on Search. Click on the green arrow to the left of "Al files and folders". In
    the "All or part of the file name" box type wpa.dbl and press the Enter key.
  2. When Windows finds the file wpa.dbl, right=click on the file and the click on Copy. Place a floppy disk in your floppy drive, and paste this file there.
  3. Take the floppy disk out and close the windows.
  4. Reinstall Windows XP.
  5. After you reinstall Windows XP, restart your computer and press the F8 key when you hear beeps
    during startup.
  6. Select Safe Mode from the menu. Insert the floppy disk, click on Start, and then
    type COMMAND. Press the Enter key. You are now at a DOS prompt.
  7. Type "copy a:wpaldbl c:\windows\SYSTEM32 and press the Enter key. Be sure to remove the floppy disk after you complete this step.
  8. Type Exit at the prompt and press the Enter key to return to Windows.
  9. Now restart your computer.

If nothing on your system has changed, Windows will accept the "old" wpa.dbl file as a valid file, and you
won't have to re-activate existing software.

NOTE: Please note that this will not work if you try moving the wpa.dbl file to a another computer with different hardware. This method will only work if you are installing on the same exact hardware the wpa.dbl came from.
